Nothing but the best

"I've been hiking in Keen boots for 10 plus years. Got my first pair of Voyager mids in 2010 and have owned no less than 10 pair over the years. I've had Targhee 2 and 4's. Of all of them this is the best new offering in years. Light, comfortable, and durable. Grippy on even the wettest terrain. Great job Keen! I'm 65 and look forward to hiking in my 90's. Keen will be on my feet until I can no longer be out there. Thanks folks!!"

"Wore a pair of Targhee Apex's, virtually 'out of the box' on a 60-miler in Feb'26 in a variety of terrains, roads, water-logged, muddy fields, hills and tracks. Very pleased with comfort, light-on-the-feet feel and complete waterproof-ness. With my wider that average feet, Keen's usual attention to toe-box width was a s good as ever."

I bought these and bedded

"I bought these and bedded them in before going on an 18 mile hike. The shoes are lightweight, waterproof and have plenty of room for toes. I did suffer with pain half way through on the underside of my feet as I feel the insides are very flat with no arch support and still feeling it a few days later. I don't think I would wear them again for this distance which is a shame for the cost"

Good, but with an annoying issue for me.

"The shoes feel good, except they are a bit loose in the back. No matter how tight I tie them, they feel a little loose around the achilles. I miss having 2 hooks on the Keens. The 1 hook just doesn't seem to cut it for me. Hopefully after wearing them a bit and breaking them in, the issue will go away. I've had a bad streak with Keens lately. Even trying to get older models I enjoy like the Targhee 3, they changed that to 1 hook (sigh)."

A keeper, but. . .

"Good boots. Light weight, good fit for me. I often have difficulty getting a just right fit. The Targhee has been a good boot for me in the past. The Apex version continues that tradition for me. Also have had a couple pairs of low top Zionics. I like them but the Apex fits me a bit better. A shade more toe box room. I wouldn't mind even a tad more. I will likely replace the Zionics with low top Apex shoes at some point. At 69 my feet are more particular than they once were and Keens keep me comfortably on the trail. Primarily woods trails, big hills and small mountain use. Use these as an everyday shoe also."
