Not waterproof

"I’m a gardener I buy these for the summer to wear on dry days. I start early so the most I’m dealing with is wet grass and an occasional shower from the hose. Very disappointed not even two weeks in and only wore 6 days out of the two weeks not daily use. Wet feet are not what I need to have after and 12 hour plus day. Bought a similar style boot last year and the same. Not worth it if you actually use them."

Wonderfully comfortable from the get

"Wonderfully comfortable from the get go. No need to break them. Supportive, comfortable, broad base of support, plenty of room for toes to spread."

Not really waterproof

"bought these at REI specifically because they are light weight and supposedly waterproof. Wore them for an hour in a light rain today to try them out. Carried an umbrella. while why are definitely better than running shoes they are definitely not waterproof . I wore no show socks to be sure I wasn't wicking surface water. My socks weren't soaked but they were damp. I was trying to avoid packing my heavier Keens for a trip, but now will have to. They are very comfortable, but if my feet are going to end up damp and cold, they are not what I expected. I am not new to Keen, these are my 5th or 6th Keen hiker"

Great shoe but heal slips a little

"Bought these shoes for shorter day hikes in our foothills. They are light weight and offer good traction. I also use them when riding my mountain bike because I like the extra support under the foot on the pedals these provide over regular tennis shoes. We rode our bikes through some rain and my feet stayed dry. The only thing I noticed about these shoes is that they are a little too big in the heal and slip slightly, even when wearing liner socks under my regular hiking socks. I have a pair of Targhee IIIs and Targhee IVs. Those shoes don't slip. Unfortunately, these Targhee Apex shoes are a bit off in the fit. I can't go down a size because I need the wide toebox for my bunions. I added some heal grip inserts and those worked for bike riding. I haven't had a chance to try them out on the hiking trails yet. But if they don't work out there, they will at least be a good shoe for bike rides."

My first Hiking boot from

"My first Hiking boot from keen and I'm impressed. So comfy as I have very wide feet so the toe box width is perfect for me. True to size I hiked 8 miles the first time I wore them and that's unheard of. Excellent"

"Have returned them as a folded piece of material at the toe end in right shoe. Waiting refund."

Wore these to walk the

"Wore these to walk the Camino Ingles in northern Spain and they were very comfortable to wear with great grip on all terrain. I have wide feet so the extra space for toes, particularly with long, warm days of walking, was also very useful. Lightweight, and the laces never came undone - great! Had good weather, so haven't yet tested them in wet conditions."

Really comfortable shoe. I have

"Really comfortable shoe. I have metatarsal problems and also some plantar pain. I bought them due to wide toe box and cushioning and also can cope with quite thick insoles. Felt comfortable from the moment I put them on and have been using them lots. . . they are perfect!"
