Great First Hiking Boots for a Future Philmont Trekker
"My son’s Men's Targhee IV Waterproof Hiking Boots are his first real pair of quality hiking boots, and they have been fantastic so far. The fit was perfect right out of the box, and he found them comfortable from day one. One of the things we appreciated most was how quickly they broke in, with no long adjustment period before hitting the trails. He was ready to start hiking almost immediately. As he prepares for a Philmont trek next year, these boots have given him confidence and comfort on every hike. So far, they’ve been an excellent investment and a great introduction to serious hiking gear."

I didn't purchase these boots
"I didn't purchase these boots in the end, as I was looking for a boot which was slightly stiffer; but I can't fault the build and feel of these boots at all. The sizing was appropriate to my normal shoe size and they felt as if they would be ready to walk in straight from the box. The return policy was excellent and if I'm ever looking for a softer boot I'll definitely buy a pair of these."

Really lovely boots and having
"Really lovely boots and having had a number of Keens I had confidence in their product. The only downside is the sizing. I usually wear a 7 with no problems, ordered these in a 7, wore them around the house for a few days and they seemed fine. However when I wore them out for the first time on Dartmoor tracks, I discovered that actually I could have done with a 7. 5. They were ok, but anything thicker than a thin walking sock meant that my toes just could have done with a smudge more room. Bit disappointed that they are not better on the size as its an expensive mistake to make, but the boot itself is very comfy although if I am being picky a bit more arch support would improve it."

This was bought for a
"This was bought for a woman, after a woman's Targhee III boot was too narrow. Keen advised trying a man's extra wide boot and this one, though not looking typically female, is very comfortable. It has been used on several hikes. This replaced an old extra wide female boot bought from the USA, which had ceased to be waterproof. Size 8 UK - true to size, and not too heavy. P&P was expensive if you live outside mainland Britain."

Your feet will thank you!
"My second pair of Keen hiking boots I’ve purchased. After an “out of the box new” 6+ mile SAR mission today I am as pleased with this pair as I am with the last. The wide toe box serves me will. Traction is great and confident foot is a must. Keen has come through for me again. Some make claim that the Keens are too heavy, but when carrying my 24 hour pack with 2-1/2 liters of water, I want and need a boot that will carry the load without failing. I have lighter boots but I’m not willing to risk it."

Wide is the ticket for me
"My fourth pair of teens. First time ordering the wide version. Should have done this sooner. No more corns the extra room in the toe area is a big improvement still snug in the heal. I'm gonna love these"

I've struggled with shoes for
"I've struggled with shoes for years due to my wide feed. The Targhee boots fit so well out of the box, never felt so comfortable in a pair of boots!"

"Nice wide fit! Shame about the goretex liner, which eventually blocks and makes the feet sweat. 😃"

Support, Comfort and Fit
"Keen has been a go-to brand for foot issues, switching to this hiker has made a huge difference with plantar facitis and metatarsalgia. I highly recommend."
