Lightweight hiker with no break in

"I purchased these to wear primarily for off trail hikes carrying a modest amount of weight. Over the course of a three day hunt in Arkansas' September heat, they did really well for me. They are lightweight and required no break in period. There is a modest amount of support. It's definitely not the most structural boot I've worn but I have also grown more interested in the natural movement of my foot and ankle rather than having everything locked down tight. I did a lot of scrambling over large boulders while carrying around 20 lbs. of gear and they provided me a secure grip in places I might have expected a firmer sole to slide a bit. I am really impressed with these boots!"

Slightly tighter fit than my

"Slightly tighter fit than my previous targhees. Very comfortable for my short slightly fat feet. Once on don't notice them, which is great. Good for light easy walks but not sure if suitable for something more serious. But. . . . . . . . the top eyelet hooks are far too small for the flat laces, so it takes ages to carefully hook the laces round them. Something that you wouldn't normally worry about but it is a real pain."

Excellent fit and comfort…

"While a little more expensive than the competition, I would rather pay the extra $30 to $40 because the shoes are always very comfortable and generally fit true to size. No matter the brand of shoe I buy, always have to buy very high arch inserts so I try to never hold that against a shoe company. So when I paid $200, almost $40 more than the competition I didn’t think to much about. The shoes were almost perfect out of the box. Even after 4 months of weekend wear going out fishing they are already falling apart. Now I usually go through a pair of shoes in about a year before they are worn out and falling apart. I accept that because I don’t like to stand still in one spot for extended periods of time. I walk about 10 to 15 miles each day I go out fishing. So imagine my surprise when I noticed the toes already separating and the rest of sole is coming apart at the heal. Again these hiking boots could have easily been a 5 out of 5 for me, but the current durability of the shoe I had to give it a 2. Slightly disappointed in the durability."

"I purchased a pair of these thru another website but ended up returning them because of the design change. I have the older version without the HUGE K on the side and because I prefer the smaller and subtle 'keen' on the older model. Outside of the design of them, they were just as comfortable as the 2 mid cut and 3 low cut versions I previously purchase thru the Keen website. 5 for comfort and 1 start for aesthetics. . ."

"Have done several longer hikes (20+ miles) and VERY comfortable but I suspect the granitic trail will chew through them quickly. That said I will be ordering a another pair. Would love to see the addition of a TPU shank for stability and a carbon toe."
