"I have had four foot surgeries so my feet are particular about what I wear. I used to wear another popular brand but they didn't have enough support. I have worn nothing but Keen Targhee's for several years for every day wear and for hiking. Great support and comfort."

The Keens are the choice with their generous toe box whilst ensuring secure fitting in the rest of the foot. I finally settled for the extra wide version - best to try both with socks to ensure what is best for you."

Boss Boots
"I put these on as soon as they arrived, and been wearing them since. I had been wearing San Jose for three years. This is a significant upgrade. Triple black with subtle accents looks so boss. These are real grip soles with an arch. No more flat foot shuffling. The lacing system is new to me, and works perfectly. No more eyelets, and the laces are much happier to perform. They seem to be alive. I can lace loose (relatively) or snug, depending on my groove, and the boot still moves with my foot, not off my foot. Its as if the body was engineered to suit multiple foot types, not giving up a true fit. Getting these on and off is not a chore. The toe box is perfect, and the toe flex outstanding. So glad I decided to change my style. Big 'Ups' to Keen. I absolutely love my new boss boots."

The boots are very comfortable.
"The boots are very comfortable. So far I've only worn them in the house (as my previous pair are still holding together with the help of some Araldite and the ground is mostly dry. I would appreciate some information on how to protect and preserve the boots. I had hoped there would be some in the box (as my previous ones were inherited from a friend) but there was nothing."

Great fit out of the
"Great fit out of the box, but lace issues. I’ve only worn these boots once so far. They were comfortable straight out of the box with a generous toe box width that prevents any toe crushing. My only disappointment is that the aglets (plastic lace tips) came off two of the laces immediately, causing them to fray. I had to fix them with tape. Great boot, but the laces need better quality control."

Great First Hiking Boots for a Future Philmont Trekker
"My son’s Men's Targhee IV Waterproof Hiking Boots are his first real pair of quality hiking boots, and they have been fantastic so far. The fit was perfect right out of the box, and he found them comfortable from day one. One of the things we appreciated most was how quickly they broke in, with no long adjustment period before hitting the trails. He was ready to start hiking almost immediately. As he prepares for a Philmont trek next year, these boots have given him confidence and comfort on every hike. So far, they’ve been an excellent investment and a great introduction to serious hiking gear."

These boots fit slightly larger
"These boots fit slightly larger than some of the other boots we’ve owned, so you may want to consider sizing down. That said, they have a really nice broken-in feel right out of the box - comfortable without needing much break-in time. My son loves them and has been very happy with the fit and comfort."

These boots are one of
"These boots are one of the best I have walked in. They are robust, yet light and comfortable, you hardly know you are wearing them. I found, even in the hot weather, my feet did not sweat as they do in other shoes. I have walked in wet weather recently and my feet remained dry and comfortable. So nice that a waterproof boot is actually waterproof, unlike others that make the same claim. It would be nice if they came in more than one colour and had a more supportive insoles, but this does not detract from the functionality of the boots."

"Only worn once so far, a 5. 5 mile dog walk which was not muddy but uneven ground was very good and my feet were very comfortable Definitely recommend"

I didn't purchase these boots
"I didn't purchase these boots in the end, as I was looking for a boot which was slightly stiffer; but I can't fault the build and feel of these boots at all. The sizing was appropriate to my normal shoe size and they felt as if they would be ready to walk in straight from the box. The return policy was excellent and if I'm ever looking for a softer boot I'll definitely buy a pair of these."
